Using the archive
The archive is free for everyone. Each item names the collection it came from and the rights that apply to it. Many items are in the public domain; others belong to the institution or family that holds them. Before reusing an image, check its source and rights note, and credit the holder and the Assyrian Archive.
Colorized versions are made with AI. Their colors are an interpretation, not a record, and should be labelled as colorized wherever you use them.
Descriptions are researched with care but can be wrong. If you know better, send a correction.
Contributing
When you send us photographs, documents or recordings, you confirm you have the right to share them. You keep your rights; you let us display, describe and, if you ask, colorize them in the archive, credited as you wish. You can ask us to remove them at any time.
Supporting the archive
- Monthly support renews each month until you cancel. You can change or cancel at any time, and it stops at the end of the month you've paid for.
- Support payments and one-time gifts go to running the archive. Unless we tell you otherwise, they are not tax-deductible.
- Names, dedications and links on the supporters wall appear as you enter them. We may shorten or decline anything offensive, misleading or unrelated.
- If something went wrong with a payment, email us and we'll put it right.
