Refugees Genocide

An Assyrian woman from Jilu (Jelu), in a head wrap and layered, fringed clothing, carries a small child on her back; the photographer's caption says she gives it a drink from her cup. Photographed by Ariel Varges, likely in 1918 during the Assyrian flight from Urmia.
